Director Sales and Marketing - Asia

The most respected International luxury hotel chain is currently seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing for their flagship hotel in a premier city in Asia. This hotel and this group are one of the top five quality operators in the entire industry world wide.  No one says “no” to an offer from them! 

The DOSM must have experience in the luxury hotel market in South East Asia with a hotel minimum size of 400 rooms.  The client prefers some one who must be currently a DOSM and ready to join no later than February 2012.  This is a top International assignment!

The Director of Sales & Marketing is accountable for developing and managing the total sales, advertising and promotional efforts within the hotel.  This includes the generation of all revenues consistent with hotel and company objectives; implementation of sales performance management systems; coordination of hotel's participation in local, regional, national and international advertising; and direction of all media and publicity events.

Requirements:

Extensive South East Asia experience in a luxury operation is mandatory.
Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions.
Ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the organization.
Must be a creative and effective leader, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources and administrative skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
Computer literacy a must, with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree.

Director Sales & Marketing – Qatar

European & M.E. experience mandatory

Our client, an International Hotel brand located in the Middle East requires a Director of Sales & Marketing. The ideal candidate should be creative in marketing, detail focused, coach and counselor and driven to sell. He/she should be assertive, yet patient, focused, yet open to new ideas and enjoys meeting people. The individual should lead by example and have good presence with clients and owners. European & Middle East experience is mandatory.

You should have the ability to fully understand the company philosophy towards yield management and communicate it to the rest of the department to ensure that all hotel rooms and meeting facilities are sold at the highest possible yield at all times. You will be required to manage the overall reservation and administrative sales function and systems, to set targets and follow up results for the sales team and prepare annual budget for S&M department and assist in entire budget preparation together with related department heads. You will prepare Marketing Plans together with the related Department Heads and coordinate and delegate sales leads. Development and fostering good relations with local companies and travel agents and to keep abreast of prevailing market forces and trends is crucial.

Salary $5,000 US net plus accommodation and all expatriate benefits.  Single or married without children as schooling in Qatar is very expensive.

Senior Market Manager – Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Our client, a well established international hospitality brand in Toronto requires a Senior Market Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing and driving client interaction at the hotel property within the assigned territory.
Securing year round inventory and negotiating favorable margin levels within the assigned area.
Increasing and developing merchant hotel partnerships in relevant  secondary & tertiary markets.
Promoting and differentiating between the property's full suite of products and initiatives.
Negotiating and securing hotel promotions and special offers for merchandising campaigns.
Providing guidance and leadership in driving various distribution technologies at the property level.
Conducting timely performance reporting and evaluations to the assigned customer base.
Conducting regular meetings with various hotel suppliers face to face or using appropriate technology.
Evaluate market trends and competitor activity to guide strategic planning and tactical decisions.
Expanding the property level relationships to include various levels of management.
Supervising a team of revenue specialists.

Cluster Director of Marketing – South East Asia

Reporting to the Regional Vice President, the Cluster Director of Marketing must have over 15 years of relevant international strategic marketing experience or similar multi-unit management role in a multi-brand entity, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. 

This role provides strategic and commercial direction to on-property area sales & marketing teams (7 hotels now and more to be added).

This role overseas all functions of sales, marketing, distribution and relationship marketing (DRM) and revenue management within the group to drive business performance across the area.  The Cluster DOSM works closely with Corporate Vice President Marketing to optimize business opportunities through strategic planning and execution to stimulate demand, optimize revenue performance and generate market share for brands/hotels within the area.

Experience in sizeable Meeting and Convention events in any prime cities is preferred, as is some one from a destination marketing company, or a current Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing, or some one from a major hotel, or casino complex in Asia.

Initially, the GM will be responsible for 7 hotels with an inventory of approx. 4,000 rooms.  You will develop and drive strategy focus on the group’s hotels.

This role also requires to strengthen the sales & marketing team to support the talent growth and development to cope with the hotels expansion plan within the Group.

Director Sales & Marketing – Multi property in Indian Ocean

Our client is looking for a strong Director of Sales and Marketing who will oversee the sales & marketing efforts for two deluxe 5* resorts, part of a international luxury hotel group. He/she would have to be qualified to compete against the fierce luxury 5* segment in the Indian Ocean. He/she will oversee the sales efforts of a total inventory of over 200 super 6* & 5 * villas, rooms and suites. The role will therefore require a dynamic operator who knows the local market. The client would like at least 10 years of experience in Sales & Marketing function of hotels/ related service industry out of which minimum of 5 years experience as a Director of Sales and Marketing, and will have worked in the Maldives market previously with a knowledge hotel / travel trade industry both in domestic & Int’l sectors. Knowledge of foreign languages will be a plus. Salary; exceptional package will be offered and more for someone with contacts in the Maldives.

Preferred candidate will be a person who has handled properties in the Indian Ocean and market strength should be in UK, German, Japan, Korea and India markets. 

Salary & Benefits Package: Basic Salary (US $60,000 ax free – negotiable!  If the right candidate!) 
Accommodation: Two bedroom apartment in city type accommodation – family friendly position as schooling is available for small children in city.
Annual Leave: 24 working days paid annual leave (excluding public holidays) on completion of (11) calendar months of service.
Air Travel for Annual leave: Economy class Air travel for annual leave from hotel to home town and back once a year.
Relocation Expenses: Free transportation of the Employee’s personal effects, including packaging and insurance up to a limit of 80 kilograms per person unaccompanied luggage and 300 kilograms air freight from home town to hotel.
Meals and Laundry :Shall be eligible for free meals and laundry while on duty.
R&R s (TWO Rest & Recovery – each one week duration) with $1800 allowance and free board and lodge in any of the company’s hotels while on R&R.

Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing (3 resorts) – Western Europe

The client seeks a DOSM who will effectively develop the sales and marketing strategy for the properties, plan and manage its implementation, liaising closely with key stakeholders (General Managers, Hotel Managers, Revenue Manager) and be responsible for communication of this strategy to the sales and event teams.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Revenue Manager, continuously monitor competitive activity and implement any agreed changes to the properties sales and marketing strategy. Take responsibility for the delivery of the annual Marketing Planning process for the properties, fully understanding the Marketing requirements, and the required budgetary guidelines, to enable empowered decisions in all rate negotiations. Liaise with General Managers and Hotel Managers to deliver specific hotel marketing projects such as direct marketing, production of sales collateral and advertising campaigns. Ensure full compliance with all hotel chain marketing programs.

Manage the sales and events teams to ensure the efficient day to day operation of the Sales and Marketing Departments and that all revenue and profitability targets are achieved in line with the core standards. Set annual revenue targets, in line with budget, for all direct sales people, ensuring that they are clear on their revenue target and have a planned strategy to achieve their goals.

Candidate Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role with a luxury property of around 300 rooms
Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiatives
Proven ability and talent for detail & an inherent thoroughness in task approach, follow-up & completion
Proven ability to inspire confidence & gain credibility with senior management
Ability to maintain complete confidentiality at all times
Flexibility to travel in a frequent basis
Fluent in English and a second language would be a plus

Salary: 5,500 to 6,000 EUROS net per month plus housing and all other benefits.

Market Manager – Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Our client, a well established international hospitality brand in Montreal requires a Market Manager.

The Market Manager position is a sales and account management role responsible for growing revenue and developing sustainable long term hotel partnerships within the Montreal area. This includes consultatively negotiating favorable rates and inventory allocations with hotels and executing key initiatives that support the company’s revenue goals and strategic objectives, while aligning with the hotels’ needs. As part of the property’s Partner Services Group (PSG), the Market Manager represents the multiple brands in the market, and liaises with internal teams to strategically market the destination through the company’s channels. The Market Manager is relied on by the hotel community as a source of guidance on market trends, and a demand driver for the destination. The ideal candidate will bring high energy, a solid background of success in hospitality sales coupled with analytical skills and business acumen, and an insatiable drive to win.

Director Sales and Marketing – Kuwait

Our client a new opening 5* luxury hotel in Kuwait is currently looking for an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing. The ideal person will bring with them Middle East experience, pre-opening experience and also have held a similar position for minimum 5 years.

Ensure achievement of the financial targets for the hotel, and that the Sales and Marketing team achieve its budgeted goals and individual targets. Build an aligned brand presence in the market, by providing leadership, coaching and by being a role model. Build and maintain positive relationships with key partners, and set and monitor strategic goals. Fully endorse the Brand and Image with linking corporate policy and strategy with all of the Sales and Marketing Teams across the Region.

Provide leadership in entrepreneurial sales & marketing activities. Maximize use of Cost of Sales info in planning sales and marketing activities. Identify and build productive relationships with business partners. Set, implement and monitor annual business plan goals and sales targets. Ensure all plans and activities lead to achieving a successful strategy 340. Lead the creation of flexible solutions to attract new and potential customers. Coach and be a mentor for the S & M team. Research, evaluate International & local trends for future business potential. Comply with all regional reporting requirements in the said timeframe. Represent the hotel at Road Shows, Trade Fairs and other management events. Complete the successful pre-opening sales & marketing activities.

We are looking for a Sales driven person with proven ability to close sales and achieve results. Organized, disciplined, dedicated, loyal and a self starter. Assertive but with a diplomatic approach to business.  Must possess top level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills. High level commercial & decision making skills. Presentation and public speaking attributes will be a must. Needs good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.

Qualifications:

Business Degree
At least five years in a Sales & Marketing director role within the hospitality & hotel management segment, preferably with pre-opening experience. Experience working in Kuwait and GCC market essential

Director of Sales & Marketing –Kuwait

Our client is a 5-star luxury  international hotel company  opening a hotel in Kuwait with 320 rooms, 15 seaside villas and 10 food and beverage restaurants & lounges and extensive function space.  This luxury property is seeking a high performance, quality-oriented Director of Sales & Marketing preferable male, with pre-opening and MEA experience. The role would be exciting to an experienced DOSM with minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.

Basic Salary is KD1500 to KD1800 plus all expat benefits.
