Corporate/Vice President Engineering - Europe

An established European group, considered amongst one of the largest and most respected Hospitality Management Companies seeks a German speaking Corporate/Vice President Engineering.  As this group owns and manages over 75 properties throughout Europe, the Corporate/VP Engineering will be responsible for all matters related to the repairs, maintenance and operation of the engineering facilities for the group’s properties.   

Fluency in German and English is a mandatory requirement.
 
Working experience in Europe is mandatory and minimum 10 years of experience in a senior post would be considered a valuable asset.  You will also be responsible for maintaining all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment including heating and ventilation. In addition, you will have significant technical experience in engineering disciplines related to the hospitality industry, in order to support and guide the Engineering team.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Organize and set up preventive maintenance programs for all electrical and mechanical equipment, including general building works.
Supervise and liaise with all contractors, write specifications for all electrical, mechanical and associated building works complying with the local government regulations and inspect and sign for contractor works upon satisfactory completion.
Oversee the general maintenance of all life safety systems throughout the hotel and report any major defects.
Ensure that all administration files are kept up to date including drawing prints, specifications and equipment, technical maintenance manuals, etc.
Recommend and evaluate energy conservation programs and ensure they are carried out as well as investigate the wastage.
Develop/communicate project mission, design brief, goals and objectives to all Directors of Engineering in the group’s properties.
Lead development and approval process for all new Hotel projects and owned asset projects with significant renovation upgrades.
Assist in the review of preliminary project budgets and participate in Value Engineering process to assure that overall budget is adhered to.
Play a key role in the development and implementation of Brand Standards.
Provide leadership and management to all team members in Engineering.
 
Qualifications:

Ideally a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering with at least five years of regional experience within the hospitality industry is preferred and the ability to find fault and rectify subsystems is essential.

Salary: Euros 120,000 per year (range).

Director of Engineering – GCC

One of the world’s leading Luxury Hotel companies is preparing to open an exciting new property in the GCC. They are seeking a top talent as their new Director of Engineering and to help lead their opening efforts. As such, previous opening experience with a luxury property is required.

As the Director of Engineering you will be part of the Hotel’s Executive Committee and have responsibility for all aspects of the Engineering and Security operations. You will be responsible for establishing and implementing the policies and procedures for Fire, Life, Health, Safety and Security guidelines and you will ensure compliance to all local, state and federal regulations, hotel Policy & Procedures and the Corporate Standards & Guidelines. Your past pre-opening experiences will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and proper completion of all tasks for the pre-opening and opening of this project. Strong and effective coordination and communication will be needed between hotel management, owners and others involved in the project, including necessary local authorities.

Key Requirements
5+ Years within an International Luxury Hotel Brand required
Minimum 3 years as a Director of Engineering for a Luxury Hotel
Previous Pre-Opening experience as a senior level Engineer
Certified Degree from reputable Educational institute
GCC Experience preferred
Fluent written and spoken English
Familiar with Hotel Engineering and Safety computer systems

Salary will be USD $70,000. Accommodation Allowance; Transportation Allowance; Education Allowance (Max 2 children); Airfare: Annual ticket for family; Medical for family, duty meals, business laundry for employee
