General Manager - Boutique Luxury Hotel - Sri Lanka

We are recruiting a General Manager for a fantastic new 5* boutique property in Sri Lanka, comprising of 11 luxury villas, swimming pool, gym/yoga facilities, spa and a library. No one from large box resorts will be considered. Only those from villa resorts like Aman, Six Senses or similar will be considered. No one who has worked solely in one company will be considered.

Our client prefers a seasoned General Manager with 5* resort experience. The individual should have the ability to implement company policies and procedures that will meet or exceed owner and management expectations. This is a beautiful, but small resort. So, the General Manager must be very hands-on and know intimately every area of operations from Sales & Marketing to F&B, Housekeeping and Accounting.

Candidates who are energetic and hands-on, with outstanding management skills are ideal. A background within luxury hotel brands with a good knowledge of operations and sound business acumen is also desired.

Our client requires someone with Sri Lanka or SE Asia work history. No one who has worked in only one country will be considered.

This person must be a self-motivated very, very hands-on General Manager, with a successful history of working in similar size properties, increasing revenues and profits by implementing aggressive marketing initiatives, improving productivity, customer service and teambuilding. Remote location experience is important, but not mandatory. Very Important: You must also be a "front person" who is always visible to the guests, not someone sitting in your office doodling on your computer.

Solid track record in Sales & Marketing and F&B, along with all round knowledge in other areas such as Rooms, Engineering and HR / Training is mandatory for this role. Candidate must be a dedicated professional who is hard working with a proven track record in similar newly opened luxury hotels.

You must have a strong personality, a good (fair but tough) leader who generates respect, by being the leader. The candidate must also have lots of flexibility and be able to handle pressure. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and team building skills with the ability to coach, mentor, motivate and have a good rapport with all. Excellent computer skills, along with a degree in hotel management or a related field.

The General Manager will report to the principles of the company and should have the ability to implement company policies and procedures that will meet or exceed owner and management expectations. The candidate should have the ability to direct, oversee multiple tasks simultaneously and have the ability to oversee the security function to ensure a safe & secure environment for guests, associates and hotel assets.

The General Manager ensures all operational departments perform successfully to their maximum efficiency in accordance with hotel standards and are individually profitable in accordance with hotel budget guidelines. Highly energetic and dynamic with at least 5 to 10 years of experience in a leadership management role. Our client's mandate is specific. They want a highly qualified and experienced General Manager who has either worked in a Cluster role, or someone who has worked for over 500 rooms hotel.

Hotel Operations Manager - Qatar

Our client, a four star business hotel in Qatar belonging to an up and coming chain in the GCC requires an experienced and dynamic Rooms Division Manager or Hotel Operations manager to manage its over 100 well-appointed rooms.

Our client has emphasized that for this important role, they are looking for someone with solid skills and experience in Rooms & Revenue Management. This person must have a successful story of working in a similar property. He/she must be a very strong leader who is capable of leading his/her team by example, is hands on and is performance driven.

Casino General Manager - Western Canada

Our client, a Premium Gaming Company is seeking a talented General Manager to oversee the operations of their casino with multiple F&B outlets, located within one of Western Canada’s city centers.

The General Manager must demonstrate superior leadership abilities and a thorough understanding of all aspects of gaming and non-gaming operations. The candidate must be dynamic and will have a proven history of analyzing and understanding gaming clientele with the ability to cater to guests’ needs and penetrate the local market.

The ideal candidate will have a variety of experiences, which must include managing multi-faceted 5 star hotels and restaurants, some operated by celebrity chefs. Someone who can infuse new concepts; mixing North American, European and Asian cuisines, and develop out of the box guest experiences. This is not a role for a senior culinarian, but someone now holding a Corporate F&B role in a 5 star branded group.

Our client seeks a certified F&B professional, with relevant training and education in recognized hospitality institutes. A dynamic, committed and passionate professional who has worked within the top luxury hotel brands

The major functions of this position require the successful individual to be a professional with ideally a minimum of 15+ years of experience. You will be aware and/or knowledgeable of various food trends, with a view to adapting the food operations to changing needs and clientele. This is a senior role where you will supervise a large department from F&B Manager to kitchen and menu designers to talent scouts and administrative personnel.

Structural aspects of the hotel, as well as the maintenance of grounds and external facilities all fall within the span of responsibility.

The Director of Engineering will also manage other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an optimum and efficient condition to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees. The candidate will be responsible for the leadership of the day to day operations. The individual will coach, mentor, develop and ensure adequate training and development of the team for high performance results. Manage all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities, including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, cooling and structural.

Organize and set up preventive maintenance programs for all electrical and mechanical equipment including general building works. Oversee the general maintenance of all life safety systems throughout the hotel and report any major defects. Supervise and liaise with all contractors, write specifications for all electrical, mechanical and associated building works complying with the local government regulations and inspect and sign for contractor works upon satisfactory completion.
Ensure that all administration files are kept up to date including drawing prints, specifications and equipment, technical maintenance manuals, etc. Recommend and evaluate energy conservation programs and ensure they are carried out as well as investigate the wastage.
Ideally a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering with at least ten years of regional experience in a large hotel, resort of hospitality facility is preferred.

Establish and implement departmental policies and procedures to increase and maintain the efficiency of the department. Promote new and return business by promoting service to an unmatched level of sophistication and professionalism.
You will have to maintain key internal relationships with Hotel Executive Committee Members and Corporate Employees, as well as key external relationships with suppliers, competitors, potential clients and other members of the local community.

Our client's property is a multi-faceted facility that requires foremost an excellent manager, able to strategize, manage a major property maintenance program, have a knowledge of tendering, should have knowledge of how to manage a renovation program and should be able to oversee projects. As a Director of Engineering, you are an excellent communicator, a leader and a motivator.

This position is open to Canadian residents only. Salary range of up to $120,000 base with a truly exceptional bonus and outstanding benefits.
